A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

If we are to increase climate investments over the next decade, we need to place go from commitments and targets to actual action. There are a lot of opportunities, so each investor needs to get a hold of it and implement it in their strategies. We also need some help in terms of regulations and policies that make it more profitable to invest in climate solutions. We could have more standardisation for how investors are to incorporate this into what is net-zero and how can we use that to transition.

Climate Investment Summit is the key milestone in the World Climate Network’s roadmap to COP29.
The Climate Investment Coalition is a key partner of Climate Investment Summit and engages its network of over 40 leading institutional investors in the Summit’s programme and content. The committing members of the Climate Investment Coalition were involved in the unprecedented commitment of a total collective commitment of US$130 billion to be invested in clean energy and climate investments by 2030.
