A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

An experienced and passionate green finance specialist, Emma Harvey-Smith is Chief of Staff at the GFI, responsible for unlocking growth opportunities and driving impact across the organisation. Â
Emma previously led the GFI’s built environment programme. From convening the UK’s largest green home finance network, to catalysing new markets including Property Linked Finance and Green Mortgages, Emma’s leadership accelerated the mobilisation of capital towards net-zero and resilient homes. She is a non-executive director of Trustmark and the Future Homes Hub. Â
Emma began her banking career at Barclays, working across corporate debt structuring, relationship management, and product management. She holds a Masters Degree in Physics from the University of Warwick, receiving the Styles Prize for graduating top of her year. Emma has been awarded the 2023 PACESetter Award for Innovation & Advocacy, the 2021 Climate Champions’ Powerlist, named as one of the ‘51 Women in UK CRE Who Survived and Thrived in 2020 and 2021’.Â
