A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.
Jane Goodland
Group Head of Sustainability, LSEG
Jane joined LSEG as Group Head of Sustainability in 2021 to lead the organisation’s sustainability agenda. Working in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders across the business she is responsible for delivering LSEG’s sustainability strategy across the full value chain including its own operations, supply chain, products and services.
For 25 years Jane has held numerous roles in responsible and sustainable investment within asset management, investment consulting, wealth management and financial market infrastructure. Prior to LSEG, Jane was Corporate Affairs Director at wealth manager Quilter plc. A member of the senior leadership team, Jane was accountable for the company’s responsible business and responsible investment agenda, as well is external and internal communications, strategic marketing and public affairs activity. Prior to this Jane was Global Head of Sustainable Investment at Willis Towers Watson, where she designed, built and lead the organisation’s sustainable investment research capability and client consulting business. In this role she engaged with a large number of asset managers and served some of the world’s largest asset owners, helping them to develop and execute their sustainable investment strategy. Jane also spent a number of years on the buy-side, working for HSBC Global Asset Management and Janus Henderson, working on responsible investment strategy and in sustainable funds management. Prior to this Jane spent the early part of her career in environmental management consulting, principally supporting financial sector clients.
Jane has an MSc, Environmental Technology from Imperial College and a BSc Environmental Science from University of Greenwich. Jane is also a non-executive director of The Investment and Savings Alliance (TISA) and a Trustee of The Centre for Financial Capability.
